Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC) is a cellulose ether in which the hydroxyl group on the cellulose chain has been replaced by either methoxy or hydroxypropyl groups.HPMC is used as a thickener, binder, and film-former in agrochemicals, coatings, ceramics, adhesives, inks, and a wide variety of other applications.The aqueous solution of HPMC undergoes a reversible gelation when heated, thus controllably increasing the raw strength of the raw ceramic body.

(1) Appearance: white or off-white powder, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic cellulose ethers
(2) Particle size: the passage rate of 100 meshes is more than 98.5%;and of 80 meshes is 100%.
(3) Bulk density: 0.25-0.70g/cm3.
(4) Soluble in water and some organic solvents, such as appropriate proportion of ethanol, water, acetone, water, and trichloroethane etc. Solution has surfactant peculiarity. PH value does not affect solubility in water.
